Summary
The JSON Formatter runs 100% in your browser. We do not upload, store, sell or share the JSON you paste. This page explains exactly what data is (and is not) collected.
What we do not collect
We never see the content of your JSON. All formatting, validation, minification and tree view features run locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
Local browser storage
To make the tool convenient we store the following in your browser's local storage: your last editor input, your indentation preference, and your theme (light/dark/system). Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it. Nothing is synchronized to any server.
Analytics
We may enable privacy-friendly analytics such as Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. These providers do not use cookies, do not track users across sites, and do not collect personally identifiable information. Analytics are documented here and can be disabled site-wide.
Advertising
Some informational pages may show ads in reserved layout slots. Ad slots are configured with a fixed size so they cannot cause layout shift. We do not show ads inside the formatter interface.
Cookies
The core tool does not set tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details on any cookies used by third-party services (analytics, ads).
